In this post, I share my monthly favourites for September 2017.
Here are some of the things I have been loving in the month of September:
OXA Smart Alkaline Water Filter Pitcher/Jug
I was sent the Oxa Smart Water Filter Pitcher to test and review by a company on Amazon. I was more than happy to try it out, as a water filter jug has been on my long list of items I must have in my kitchen at some point. There are so many chemicals and additives in our tap water, and although ignorance is bliss, it is important to try and ‘clean’ the water we consume daily as best we can. I have been trying out the water filter pitcher for the past few weeks. I continuously refill it with water and it sits in my fridge. To be honest, I can’t tell much difference in the taste of the water although it does taste smoother and more like bottled water. The pitcher comes with two filters, and each filter should last between one and three months, depending on how many people are using the filtered water. There is also a booklet detailing the benefits of alkaline water, which include the filtering of chlorine and other contaminants, and the filter permanently absorbs metals like lead and copper. You can purchase the Oxa Smart Alkaline Water Filter Pitcher by clicking here.
Ahmad Tea ‘Vanilla Tranquility’ Tea Bags
I was sent a selection of teas from ‘Ahmad Tea’ to try, and my favourite was the Vanilla Tranquility variety. I love the hint of vanilla in the tea bag…so delicious.
Beauty and the Beast DVD
Sky have started a new reward scheme for their customers called Sky VIP, and as a customer you get to choose a free DVD from the Sky Store. No surprises that I chose Beauty and the Beast. We watched it at the cinema and I loved it, and have already watched it on DVD a few times.
The second series of Doctor Foster is currently on BBC One. It is a drama about a respectable doctor whose husband cheats on her, and the issues that unfold as a result of the affair. It is an enjoyable drama, although frustrating at times, and I look forward to the finale next week.
Gotham Season 3 on Netflix
I have been waiting for Season 3 of Gotham for the longest time, and was disappointed that Channel Five weren’t airing it. Season 3 recently became available on Netflix, and we watched all 22 episodes in a few days. Loved it. Now let’s see how long we have to wait for Season 4 in the UK.
The Great British Bake Off 2017
I’m loving The Great British Bake Off so far. I thought I wouldn’t since it’s move to Channel 4 and the absence of Mary Berry (and Sue and Mel), but to be honest, it’s still fun and the bakes look amazing.
My Not So Perfect Life by Sophia Kinsella
I really enjoyed reading My Not So Perfect Life by Sophia Kinsella, especially as it’s so relevant today. My Not So Perfect Life is all about not judging a person’s life by their Instagram feed, and how we all have imperfect lives although we only share the good bits. A funny, thought-provoking read which I highly recommend.
While My Eyes Were Closed by Linda Green
I read While My Eyes Were Closed by Linda Green in one day. I genuinely couldn’t wait to find out what would happen. A really good thriller about a girl who goes missing while playing hide and seek with her mum in the park. I love how unexpected it is, and it’s particularly interesting as it gives the perspective of the family whose girl goes missing, and the person who has taken the girl. A must read!
